A writer struggles to connect with his mother in her native Teo Chew language, and realizes he is in a constant fight to stop the loss of his cultural heritage. This special one-night only performance of Joe Ngo’s solo show is an encore presentation for an artistic residency received from Barn Arts Collective in Maine. Words Words… was originally performed as a part of the 2016 Living Room Series and at Barn Arts Collective in Maine in October 2017.
About Joe Ngo
Joe Ngo is a NYC based actor and writer, originally from Monterey Park, CA. As a solo performer, his work often examines the contrasts between current socio-political issues, his personal life, and relationships. As an actor, his credits include White Snake (Baltimore Center Stage), Henry IV: Part One (Seattle Shakespeare Co.), Blood Wedding (Odyssey Theatre Ensemble), ongoing workshops of Cambodian Rock Band Play (South Coast Rep) and Hamlet (abridged) as an Actor/Teaching Artist with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival School Visit program. Other writing credits include: Way Past Hungry and The Twelve Stages. He is a graduate of the MFA Acting Program at the University of Washington. Joe-Ngo.com
